The Health and PE Department held the Parangal sa mga Atleta in the new University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) Gymnasium last May 6, 2017.
This event was organized to recognize student-athletes who competed in the 79th Season of the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP).
Every athlete was given a certificate of appreciation for their contributions this year.
Former Junior Maroon Bryan Gamad delivered a talk to inspire athletes to take advantage of all lessons and opportunities an athlete could get. According to him, resiliency is the key to success.
UPIS Junior Maroons coach and former alumnus Paolo Mendoza also added some words of encouragement and added a little fun on stage when he called some players from the basketball, volleyball, and table tennis teams for an adlib performance.
Batch 2021’s Athlete of the Year, Zoe Hilario also gave an inspiring message to everyone. She shared how she started and fell in love with the sport of swimming.
