Student Services Dept. conducts Support Staff Seminar


Another support staff seminar dubbed “Bata… Bata… Sino Ka Ba? Mga Wastong Pakikitungo sa mga Batang nasa K-2” was held on January 26 at the UPIS AV Room.

Initiated by the Student Services Department, the seminar was launched to assist the guardians and non-faculty staff in dealing with the students of K-2. School bus drivers, SSBs, custodial workers, helpers, and the school nurse were among the 50 participants of the event.

Prof. Annalyn Capulong of the UP Department of Psychology facilitated the seminar. She discussed the proper treatment of K-2 students and appropriate language and behavior towards them.
Developmental theories and common characteristics of the students were also discussed to help better understand the children. An open forum followed the lecture as a venue for the participants to share their experiences in handling the students.

The seminar had two sessions to accommodate the guardians from both the morning and afternoon classes in K-2. The 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM sessions had 22 and 28 attendees, respectively.

News: Batch 2020, dumalo sa career talk kasama ang Fluor Corp.


Lumahok ang Batch 2020 sa isang career talk kasama ang Fluor Corporation noong Pebrero 16 sa UPIS AV Room.

Ang Fluor ay isang multinational company na nag-aalok ng engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, at project management services sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo.

Nagsilbing tagapagsalita sa nabanggit na gawain sina Engr. Gizelle Jamero, Engr. Rommell Marinay, at Engr. Mark Sapungan ng naturang kumpanya. Nagbahagi sila ng kaalaman sa iba’t ibang larangan ng pag-iinhinyero gaya ng Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, at Civil Engineering. Inanyayahan din nila ang mga mag-aaral na lumahok sa National Engineers’ Week sa darating na Pebrero 19-25.

Karaniwang inoorganisa ng Student Services Department ang mga career talk sa paaralan. Inaasahang lalahok din sa parehong gawain ang Batch 2019 sa Pebrero 28. // ni Beca Sinchongco

UPIS parenting seminar, inilunsad



Isinagawa ng University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) Department of Student Services ang parenting seminar na may temang Positive Parenting: Raising Confident and Disciplined Children noong Nobyembre 5, 2016 sa Bulwagan 3-6.

Layunin ng taunang seminar na matulungan ang mga magulang sa paggabay at pag-unawa sa kanilang mga anak. Tinalakay rito ang mga usaping kinakaharap nila kaugnay sa pagpapalaki ng anak at parenting styles, partikular na sa study habits, self-esteem, at self-regulation ng kanilang mga anak.
Halos 200 na magulang mula Kinder hanggang Grado 11 ang dumalo sa nasabing gawain. Si Prop. Annalyn Capulong ng UP Department of Psychology ang naging tagapagsalita ng seminar.

Bago inilunsad ang aktibidad, nagsagawa muna ng isang needs assessment survey ang Departamento ng Student Services nang sa gayon ay maging gabay ito sa pagpili ng mga paksang higit na makatutulong sa mga magulang.
