For a painter paints his imaginings
On canvas and paper
Let me paint my longing
Upon silence

Let me spill my sadness
Across music sheets
Let them tear their way
Across the staffs

Let my agony dance
In between sharps and flats
My tears reflected
On 16th notes and stops

And as I bring
My sadness into life
I hope you see
The cause of my strife

As I glide my bow
Upon these four strings
May you feel the melancholy
That you brought

As the melody steadies
May you hear how I felt
As I look at you
As you look in my eyes

As the hum goes to piano
May you feel that night
When I last held your hand
And it was quiet

Nothing but the hum
Of the shining stars themselves
And the soft beats
Now unsynchronized

As the tune goes andante
May you hear
The flow of my tears
While the night starts to fade

As pitch heightens
And my fingers skim across the fingerboard
May you hear the sound of broken glass
Akin to breaking hearts

Let my fortissimo
Upon the thickest string
Mask the flat—
As you fade along with the night

As the timbre goes somber
And the yearning goes to a resolve
I hope you hear me, my angel
From up there where you belong

Invisibility
She looked at him and his eyes were away
What was he thinking? How could she ever say
He doesn’t know what she was truly feeling
For this girl was an invisible being.

Mind Reading
He tried not to look for too long
But this time was different, her eyes sang a song
They were just looking at each other as if chanting a curse
And then he knew, his heart was beating the same rhythm as hers.

Unstoppable
From then on they lived each day like a fairy tale
Together they faced everything like a blowing gale
Nothing could tear them apart from each other
They were great flames no one could ever smother.

Deception
But as time passed, he asked himself, “Is she really the answer?”
His endless doubt caused him to step back and his mind to wander
And then another girl stood beside him
Pretty, funny and smart, she became his secret dream.

Reincarnation
He killed the first one in a most grotesque manner
He didn’t know he made her suffer
She did not realize, she was buried alone, breathing
But in no time, again she was up and walking.

Invincibility
She felt undaunted and invulnerable
She was a machine no one could disable
Immune to any pain, she learned from her past
The past that shattered and ruined her trust.

Invisibility
He pleaded and begged and asked for forgiveness
Yet she never relented, it caused him sadness
He was now alone, agonized and left with nothing
Just because he felt unsure about the girl who gave him everything.
