Abot–Kamay, isinagawa muli

Ngayong taon, inilunsad muli ng Kamag-Aral (KA) 7-10 ang proyektong Abot–Kamay upang tulungan ang mga nasalanta ng Habagat nitong Agosto.

Hinikayat nila na magdala ng relief goods ang mga estudyante mula Kinder hanggang Grado 10, tulad ng mga de lata, tubig, bigas, instant noodles at iba pang agarang pangangailangan. Ang bawat baitang ay naatasang magbigay ng mga nakatalang aytem.
Target ng KA 7-10 makalikom ng 100 relief packs at sila mismo ang mag-aabot nito sa komunindad. Kung hindi naman ito aabot sa 100 relief packs, ibibigay na lamang ng pamunuan ng KA 7-10 ang mga relief goods sa Citizens Disaster Response Center (CDRC); Isang non-government organization at ang CDRC na rin ang magpapa-migay ng mga relief goods sa mga tao.

Ang huling araw ng pagbibigay ng mga relief goods ay ngayong Agosto 30 ngunit hinihiling ng KA na ipagpatuloy pa ang pag-aabot ng donasyon ng mga estudyante. /ni Bea Cao, Joshua Paulino, Emerson Sandoval at Alissa Villareal

Pagkumpiska ng ID, pansamantalang itinigil

Simula noong Martes, Hulyo 9, pansamantalang itinigil ng Kamag-Aral 3-10 (KA) ang pagkumpiska sa mga ID ng mga estudyanteng nahuhuli sa flag ceremony.

Dahil sa lumalaking bilang ng mga estudyanteng hindi dumadating sa oras ng flag ceremony, ipinatupad ng KA ang pagkumpiska ng mga ID nila simula noong Hunyo 25. Ayon sa pamunuan, isususpindi muna ang patakarang ito upang ayusin ang sistema ng pagpapatupad.

Ani Faye De Castro, pangulo ng KA 7-10, layunin nito na madisiplina ang mga mag-aaral sa tamang oras ng pagpasok sa paaralan. Isa rin itong paraan upang maitala at masolusyonan ang madalas na pagdating ng huli ng mga estudyante tuwing flag ceremony. Commuters' Pass rule implemented

In an effort to increase the school's security measures, the UPIS Administration issued the Commuters' Pass last June 11.

Only students with the commuters' pass will be allowed to leave school premises without fetchers after classes. The school will also strictly monitor the students who are fetched by school services since they have no permission to leave the school by themselves.

UPIS Principal Dr. Ronaldo San Jose then stated that there is still no definite date of the pass' implementation but it should be effective as soon as possible.

The constant change of school security guards contributes to the reasons why the school needs a Commuters' Pass. Since the guards are not permanent employees, they do not know which of the students regularly commutes to and from school.

Dr. San Jose also said that there are no other alternatives for the Commuter's Pass and that this is the best possible solution to better the school's security. / by Bea Cao, Alissa Villareal, Joshua Paulino
