Well-dressed people, fancy table tops
She makes her way to the party
Dressed by every costly shop
With her circle of friends,
Competing with one another.
Always sitting side by side,
But never really together
She fakes a smile and forces a laugh,
Pretending to look happy in each photograph
Convincing everyone that she’s having fun,
She has made too many connections,
But never had a real one

She sighs as she lives the life of presentation
Everything’s perfect except for her reflection.
