Cathay Pacific (CX) encouraged students of UPIS Batch 2020 to join the I Can Fly program through an orientation held at the AV Room last May 11.

Now on its third year, the program introduces high school students to the airline industry to encourage their interests in aviation and social service. The program continues to grow as the company sees the success of previous installments and the positive effects the program has on participants.

CX Marketing Communications Executive Maiel Perez presented a background of the airline company and the program. Three graduates from the pioneer batch, Fiel Delos Reyes, Caitlin Norona, and Marianne Sasing of UPIS Batch 2018, shared their experiences in the program, including the Life Well Travelled campaign and their trip to Hong Kong.

“Masaya siya pero ang pinaka na-treasure ko talaga dun ay yung experience kasi nakaka-boost siya ng self-esteem,” Sasing shared about how the program moved her.

CX will choose twenty students to participate in the program this year. For UPIS Grade 9 students who want to join, they may submit their entries until Friday, May 19. Qualified participants will be announced before the month ends. //by Trisa de Ocampo, Bryan Lina
