The University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) held their various camping activities this late March and April 2017.

The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) and Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) conducted their annual camps at the May Farm Bamban, Tarlac last April 23-26 and 27-30 respectively.

Themed Eco Superhero, the GSP camp targeted environmental conservation by encouraging the scouts to be pioneers of ecological awareness. The BSP camp was dubbed Unplugged: Reconnecting with the Essentials, as it aimed to engage scouts with nature by keeping them away from the city and modern technology.

As part of the camp, the BSP and GSP hosted an outreach program for the Aetas who resided in the area. The Boy Scouts played Ultimate Frisbee with the natives and donated frisbee discs while the Girl Scouts donated clothes. Both hosted an engaging storytelling session for the natives as well.

Last April 27-28, the Star Scouts also conducted an overnight camp at the UPIS K-2 grounds. Activities such as a vermicomposting workshop and a Gala Night with the scouts’ fathers were held during the camp.

Meanwhile, the KAB Scouts had their Father-and-Son Camp last March 31 to April 2 at the Cos Arcos de Hermanos Resort, Bulacan. Participants went rope climbing, swimming, gadget making, and spent one-on-one time with their fathers.

“It was a good opportunity for the kids to bond… Ang ganda panoorin ng relationship with the dads and the kids,” said Ms. Christine Fua, Grade 2 Coordinator of the KAB Scouts.
