bahaghari,
Lips
Literary: Parts of Me
Lips
I will speak with all but sumptuous words
Only to leave you in silence
The words from your lips will crumple
And as you spit them out, your tongue will pull them back
Eyes
I will stare blankly into your eyes
As you let me break you into pieces
And you will have to put yourself back together
As I watch you do so
Heart
Tame, I may seem, but I am only holding back
From verbalizing what I truly feel
And so this heart of mine will only repress
Whatever you want to express
Senses
I have lost my passion to feel, as if I’ve nothing but malice
I will make you feel numb without my touch
And my mind will try to connect to yours
Unconsciously asking for forgiveness
Conscience
There is some good, but I choose to be cynical
For I believe that there is no eternal happiness
And so you will have to wake me up
And make me see the beauty I have failed to heed
Soul
My soul has departed from my body
So I will ask you to share parts of yours with me
And slowly you’ll forget how it is to live
For you have already lived your life for me
Would you still take these parts of me even if it means losing parts of yourself?
