The UPIS students once again showcased their talents in this year's UPIS Fair Field Demonstration and Powerdance Competition last February 11, 2020, at the UPIS Quadrangle.
The theme for this year's competition was "Manaig: Tibok ng Tagumpay". It aimed to show that loving oneself is a step closer towards being the best version of ourselves.
Batch 2022 made history as they won Best Cheer and bagged the first back-to-back Powerdance championship since Batch 2013’s feat. They once again performed their championship dance at the end of the program.
Batch 2023, donning military-themed costumes, delivered a strong performance and won first runner-up.
The second runner-up was Batch 2024, who surprised the crowd when they sent two doves flying at the end of their performance. They also got the Best Interpretation Award for the required song "Puso".
The third runner-up, Batch 2025, gave their best in their first Powerdance performance and proved that they can compete with the older batches. They then received the Most Resourceful Award.
The Male Stunner among all batches was Yeshua Galicia of Batch 2023 while the Female Stunner Award was awarded to Frances De Guia of Batch 2022.
The participants from Kinder to Grade 6 also put their best foot forward with their creative and entertaining performances.
The students from Kinder and Grades 1 to 2 captured the audience’s hearts when they dressed as superheroes and therefore became the Crowd's Favorite.
The theme “Agimat” was given to Grades 3 to 6 and each grade level was given an element: the water element was given to Grade 3, earth to Grade 4, wind to Grade 5, and fire to Grade 6.
The Grade 3 students were deemed Most Energetic while Grade 4 students won the Best Cheer Award. The Most Resourceful Award was given to Grade 5 and lastly, Grade 6 students won the Best Choreography Award.
The senior high school students also performed special numbers after the competing batches. Grade 11 students entertained the crowd with their K-Pop inspired performance while Grade 12 students performed a memorable number when they used the songs from their past Powerdance performances. //by Liane Bachini
