Those cold nights
When my breath shakes
And my toes shiver;
When I’m wrapped
In soft blankets;
When memories of you
Brought me to places
I've never been to…
When I remember
The glimpse I caught
Of your angelic face
Your pale skin,
Your rosy cheeks and
The calm look in your eyes
It’s as if I am brought
To the City of Angels
When I remember
The moment I said 'hi'
And your reply was,
'Hello' together with a smile;
Your precious smile
That lit up
My dark and barren world
Brightly like La Ville Lumière
When I remember
The things we talked about
That made time fly fast
But slowed down the world
Those simple conversations
That woke me up every night
Like the City that Never Sleeps
Oh how I love
Those cold nights
When memories of you
Brought me to places
I've never been to--
Places I wish to visit
With you
Someday in the future.
