I promise
To forget
All those times
We have spent together
To bid goodbye to my memories of forever.

I promise
To throw away
Those little mementos
Of you that I keep near
All of which reminds me how much I hold you dear.

I promise
To move on
And to stop fighting
For a love that is unrequited
To let you go is what I have reluctantly decided.

To stand firm
With these promises
I cannot do.

For promises made
With only half the heart
Are promises
Which are meant to be broken.
