The University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) Track and Field proved themselves worthy with a roaring comeback as they bagged the title of 2nd Runner-Up in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 78 Track and Field Tournament at Ultra, Pasig last February 19-21, 2016.
Walkers Forth Soriano, Gyles Abac, and Trent Madjus, all seniors, showed their domination as they swept the 5000m walk, taking home the gold, silver, and bronze, respectively, on the first day.
Soriano also staved off contenders by claiming the gold medal in 3000m walk alongside Abac who took the silver medal. Christian Pagadora was declared the 1st runner up in the 400m hurdles.
Even though this was the first year for Girls’ division in UAAP, Shana Iniego, Jaja Ledesma, Stephanie Bello, and Tricia Raza bagged the bronze medal for the 4x100m relay while Iniego, Ledesma, Raza and Gelleen Esposo took home another bronze for 4x400m relay.
Pagadora, Charles Epino, Jerick Marquez, and Reinard Grimaldo won the bronze medal for the 4x400m relay Boys’ division.
Epino was also declared as the second runner up for the 400m sprints. Inni Domingo claimed the bronze medal in Shotput throw, Girls’ division.
