DiMaAninag,
Spoof Literary: John and Lorrie
This story occurred in the days before the summer of 1984. This is the story of a Grade 9 University of the Philippines Integrated School student named John and his friend, Lorrie. This is a story of two individuals that destiny purposely kept ignorant of the truth, until now.
Every day after class, John looks forward to seeing his good friend Lorrie. As he leaves his last class, he goes past the library and then towards the parking lot. There he sees his good friend Lorrie waiting for him.
He has known Lorrie ever since he was in Grade 7. Though they were never classmates or even batchmates, he became good friends with Lorrie when he would meet her every day on his way to first class and on his way home from his last class. Sometimes he even ate lunch with her.
One day, John has a long test in his mathematics class. So, he tells Lorrie about it. Lorrie, on the other hand, was quite upset about losing her precious pen. She has had that pen since her first day at UPIS as a present from her parents. John, being the good friend he is, offers to help her find it.
They spend the rest of the day going through the places Lorrie thinks it would be. Though they don't find the pen, they appreciate the time that they spent with each other and treasure their friendship even more.
The next day, John hears rumors of Lorrie spending time with Rocky. He does not know why but he feels jealous of Rocky. He realizes that he wants something more than friendship with Lorrie. Unsure of how Lorrie might react, he waits for the right time to ask Lorrie about their friendship.
Some days pass with John and Lorrie following their routine of seeing each other. John eventually gathers his courage to tell Lorrie once he finally believed that his feelings were true.
On the last day of class, as they are walking towards the gate to leave, John stops walking and honestly tells Lorrie that he had developed feelings for her after all the time that they spent together. Lorrie turns as pale as a statue, she then tells John that she shares his infatuation and feelings.
She then tells John that since it is the last day of classes, they are not in a rush to leave. She asks if they could spend some time with each other before the long summer break where they would be apart from each other. She barely finishes talking when John hugs her closely.
. . .
So far, it has been a normal day for Fredrick, the security guard of the University of thle Philippines Integrated School. The sun is setting, the last of the students had already left and he had just finished his cup of coffee in his guard shack. It’s time for his nightly patrol through the silent school.
He passes through the back side of the library, past the Rockman statue and the flagpole. He was entering the parking lot when he sees something that shocks him to the core. There it is, a student sharing a very passionate kiss with the Teacher statue.
