Literary (Submission): A Letter to Who I Hold Dear

I sit atop my cotton candy throne
High above the clouds and the bumblebees
Wondering, cupcakes or chocolates?
A madness spreading over me

Take me gladly
I won’t utter a plea
But dearest,
Would you take me at all?

If you knew that in reality
That I am quite mad
Darling, don’t you know?
I’ve a penchant for poems and coquetry

Take me gladly
I won’t utter a plea
But dearest,
Would you take me at all?

Even when my ears are filled with cotton
My heart, a rosebush wrapped in thorns
Sweetheart, would you hold these shaky hands?
Add to that my mind always high above the clouds

Take me gladly
I won’t utter a plea
But dearest,
Would you take me at all?

I promise I won't bite
And if you ask around, you'll find I can be quite nice
But honey would you take the leap?
If you would, my love, tell me please

For if you take me gladly
And you nor I utter a plea
Then dearest,
We can take it all
