english,
Hey, hey, hey! Is there anything you need? A place to go this weekend? The latest millennial trend to try? Or challenges to do with your friends? Maybe these 3 Vloggers from UPIS can help you with your problems.
SWIM. SHOOT. SLAY.
First up is Suzy Mariella Uy, a Grade 11 student, a swimmer and an artist of the UPIS Media Center. She started her channel last year, and aired her first episode on November 26, 2016. The content of her channel mainly consists of travelling, music, film, photography, and current events in her life. She explained that she uploads her videos because it is easier for her to share her ideas and express her feelings.
Her main goal for her channel is to share and improve her skills in filmmaking and Photoshop. She is also using the experience as part of her training to pursue her dream college course: Multi Media Arts. The channel will also serve as part of her portfolio for it. With her fearlessness, she’s gaining viewers little by little and that’s what keeps her filming and making new videos.
STORY OF HER LIFE
Fatima Wadi, a student from Grade 10-Yakal, would like to thank her subscribers for making memories with her and her channel: Pizza & Lemonade. She loves photography but since she wanted to level it up, she tried to edit her own videos so she made this channel late 2014 but uploaded her first video on October 2015, entitled “Vlog: Chill Sunday|2,” sharing a tidbit of her life with us viewers. She treats her channel as a diary, as it is something she would like to keep forever, not just on the internet, but also in her heart.
Fatima’s videos are all about showcasing her talents like baking, drawing, painting and performing guitar covers. Sometimes she features her sisters Hannah and Cay, both UPIS students, for cameos or challenge videos. Hannah, a Grade 2 student, even has her own segment on Pizza & Lemonade, reviewing her toys like Baymax and My Little Pony.
Fatima also featured this year’s UPIS Fair including Powerdance 2016 where her batch (2019) won first place.
ALL AROUND THE WORLD
Anne Therese Papa or Telet is another Grade 10 student who has now taken part in the vlogging world. Her channel called Helicoptherese is all about her travels and experiences not just in the Philippines but also around the world. She’s been to Palawan, Cebu, Baler, Puerto Galera, Cambodia and many more!
Other videos on her channel include her experiences with bath bombs, C.A.-EMA’s Literally Literary Day, and their recent JS Prom, Lumine 2017. Sometimes, Telet creates Do-It-Yourself videos but she’s not confident enough about it, so she posts it privately. She made Helicoptherese because she loves editing videos and re-watching memories.
Telet’s goal is to have more viewers for her to interact with her subscribers because she loves to read their feedback on her videos. Her subscribers are important to her because they spend their precious time watching her videos. She hopes that they learn something from her channel.
If these sound interesting for you, visit their channel, hit like, subscribe, and leave comments on their videos. Who knows, maybe you’ll even get inspired to start your own vlogging channel! //Hanna David, Jaja Ledesma
