geraldine tingco,
Thirty-four Grade 2 scouts attended the Star Scouts Overnight Camp 2018 held at the K-2 Building on April 13 and 14.
According to Ms. Marie Janelle Beatriz Limpo, Star Scout Troop Leader, the camp aimed to develop the children’s independence and evaluate how much they learned from scouting throughout the school year.
The camp featured a Gala Night, wherein the scouts received messages and had a dance with their fathers. The activity was held to teach the scouts how to behave during a formal event and to have them bond with their fathers.
The scouts also participated in two workshops. The first was facilitated by Ms. Ana Luciano, a teacher from Assumption College, Antipolo and the owner of Art of Annalou. Luciano showed the scouts how to paint. The second workshop was led by Ms. Hazel Bual, Ms. Emie de Vera, and Ms. Jailla Guillermo from the De La Salle College of St. Benilde. They taught the scouts basic expressions and letters in sign language.
Various activities such as amazing race, bonfire, and boodle fight filled the night of the campers.
“Masaya kasi maraming taong umattend and lahat kami sumayaw with our daddy […] lahat ng father nagbigay ng rose for us,” said Rayzeil Janella Tingco, a member of Star Scouts.//by Geraldine Tingco
