dreaMCometrue,
Determination went around town to find out what a dream is. He roamed the streets and asked around. Here is what he found.
Sorrow said, “A dream is a vision that cannot be attained and will only appear in your mind but will not happen in your life.”
“It is a wish that you want to happen but may well be your downfall,” suggested Fear.
Hopeful exclaimed, “A look into your future that is bright and beautiful!”
“A waste of time, energy, and talent because it is purely fictional,” answered Frustration.
“A pleasing sight right before your eyes,” Excitement answered.
“A goal that somebody has attained before you,” replied Jealousy.
Even after all these, however, Determination still did not understand what a dream is. Confused, he left the park and went to an alley near his home. He sat down on the steps of a doorway while thinking about the answers. Then he felt an arm on his shoulders. He looked and saw an old man with a cane. He wondered if this old man can answer his question but before he could ask, the man said:
“A dream is what fuels us to live our life to the fullest. It makes you feel happy, sad, angry… it makes you feel wonderful. It is an idea, a vision, an image that you see everyday and think about every time. To reach it may be your downfall or victory. It is a fragile stone you want to keep, care for, and polish. It is like the sky—sometimes bright, sometimes dark, clear or cloudy, sunny or rainy. But it is always there, just right above you.”
Determination was amazed. “What is your name, old man?” he asked.
“My name,” the old man answered, “is Purpose.”
Determination smiled, got up, and walked home, satisfied and determined to achieve his dream with purpose.
