You stand there in front of me
And I stand here, staring at the earth.

I don’t see you, but I know you’re looking at me.

I close my eyes as I remember
That moment in this exact setting
When it just did not feel right.
That moment when I knew the universe
Was telling us nothing but to part.

Nothing moved until
I felt your hands on mine
Sliding onto my arms
Then to the curve of my spine.

And at that moment,
I swore,
I will never
Let the universe take over
Ever again.
