What to do with the Box of Chocolates
Charlie Bizz
Life is like a box of chocolates
You will never know what you’re gonna get
But all chocolates start bitter
And sometimes they stay that way
Sometimes when you defy the box’s lines
And forcibly pick a sweet delectable one
You’ll start questioning yourself
“Why did I do that?”
It’s easier to stay happy while eating the bitter ones
Thinking that maybe the next one would be different
Soon it has escaped your notice
You’re left with only bitterness and despair
You could’ve just went with the flow
Go through everything accordingly
Now even after many choices
You’ll always end up with the ones you don’t like
So when you feel disappointed
Think twice and say to yourself
“Tomorrow might be a chocolate I like,
But bitter or not, I’m thankful I have one.”

Laid Out on the Table
Fred Perry
What if life isn’t just a box of chocolates?
What if it’s something more than that?
What if it’s of a wider range perhaps?
What if it’s a whole buffet?
You see what’s lined up for you—
Dishes of all kinds, colors, and textures
Each one mouthwatering,
Almost impossible to try everything and pick a favorite.
You’ve got it on your plate—
Your regulars, those you know and always get
And something new, those you’ve never seen before
Oh, your taste buds are in for a treat!
When you bite what you know is good
You want more but too much becomes too bad
And when you taste something you dislike
You swallow it, anyway, but you won’t try it again.
So on your next trip to the buffet table,
Say to yourself,
“I make smarter choices now
Because I have learned my lesson.”
