atticous,
"I wish I were not in this real world ever again",
I murmured to myself then.
Then I saw this shape in the celestial yonder.
A star, a typical figure.
Those skeptics complained at me and censured,
“Fool, that should be gone from our sight!
It’s just a blemish, a petty one, in the night
Eventually disappearing and leaving its mark
After the light prevails over the moon and the dark
How lackluster, just like pulverized sawdust
How treacherous, just like Pandora’s box
‘Tis just a puny, unremarkable star.”
“Yeah, apparently, it's like a scar.
You may say it’s like a blemish messing the pristine nightsky
You may say it suddenly poofed from elsewhere and went awry
But I’m afraid you are mistaken.
I have a vision that someday, it will enlargen–
As big as a meteor from the cosmic dimension
Its presence mesmerizing you with its incantation
Its glow gleaming bright enough just like my eyes
Its color ranging from the powerful red to the regal violet – you’ll be surprised.”
With an air of disbelief, those skeptics mocked me.
They said in this down-to-earth world I was an anomaly
Someone whose head was always in the clouds of fantasy
Someone who could not accept the harshness of reality
Someone who would end up just like an ordinary star –
Indistinct as a piece of feldspar
Unceremoniously bidding its adieu to the horizon...
Then, as if by magic, spawned a loud explosion
Boom! Those doubters were left in confusion,
“How, how is it possible for the star to blast like that?
How, how is it possible that it would go so big, so bright?” they spat.
“For I believed my dream will become true
Those magical thoughts, images I pursue
And never will I let realists like you make me rue.”
And lo, from the star emerged a mystical portal
As I saw it, I moved forward with approval
The key to a world where I can imagine without restrictions
The key to a world where humdrum life has met its extinction
The key to a world where everything surreal exists.
