The University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) 3-6 library is undergoing renovation funded by donations from the owner of DATEM construction company, Mr. Levy V. Espiritu, and Batch ’69 of UPIS elementary.
According to Prof. Portia Dimabuyu, Assistant Principal for Administration, both parties have donated a combined sum of around 5.8 million pesos.
The renovation of the library started in the 10th of December last year. Upon completion, the library will have air conditioning, new tiles, freshly painted walls, a new ceiling, and new shelves.
While the 3-6 library is being renovated, a temporary mini-library has been set up between the Music Room and A.V. Room for the elementary students.
According to Prof. Dimabuyu, the library is expected to be operational by March 11, Monday. //by Roel Ramolete
