MoneyGram donated books to the UPIS Library following a ceremonial turnover at the Chan Lim Art Studio in Pasig City last April 2.
The donation came as part of the MoneyGram Foundation’s activities to promote their advocacy on education through educational programs and activities like storytelling and book donations. This year, MoneyGram chose UPIS as its beneficiary and donated brand-new books to the school’s 3-6 Library.
Prior to the ceremonial turnover, MoneyGram held an art workshop for 12 UPIS elementary and high school students at the said studio of Dr. Alex Chan Lim, the Philippines’ country manager for MoneyGram International. Dr. Lim also served as one of the instructors at the workshop.
“It was really a fun Sunday… [It made me realize that] happiness comes in different wrappings, sometimes even without,” Ms. Wilma Azarcon, UPIS head librarian who accompanied the participants to the workshop, expressed.
