Exhibits replicating science centers were constructed by the UPIS Department of Science last November 11, 2016 at the UPIS 3-6 and 7-12 buildings to celebrate the World Science Day for Peace and Development.

The exhibits showcased projects, experiments, and demonstrations accomplished by students in their previous science classes.

Exhibits at the 3-6 building focused on General Science while those at the 7-12 campus featured science subject matters in high school, namely, Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Science, Technology, Society, and Environment (STSE). Each aimed to serve as an integration of the science curriculum in all grade levels.

The faculty and student teachers of the department prepared and curated the exhibits.
Meanwhile, students visited the displays during science period.

The World Science Day for Peace and Development has been celebrated annually on November 10 since it was proclaimed in 2001 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It aims to promote the role of science in the society in both national and international levels. //by Trisa de Ocampo
