The UPISVST swimmers representing the school in the 2016 Swimming Division Meet qualified for the National Capital Region (NCR) Meet last Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the Amoranto Sports Complex, Quezon City.
Competing against other schools and universities, a number of members from the UPISVST garnered a total of 36 medals consisting of 23 golds, 13 silvers and will be representing Quezon City next year together with the other winners of the said competition.
The UPISVST’s preparation for the division meet left nothing to chance. “Kapag may competition, binabawasan yung workout 3 days before para ‘di sumakit katawan,” sophomore Zoe Hilario shared when asked about their groundwork in anticipation of the Division Meet. “Iniiwasan mag-skip ng training; kahit may quiz kailangan pa rin magtraining,” she added.
Hilario, together with Junior Charize Esmero, led the UPISVST in the Girls division, copped 8 golds, and 5 silvers combined.
Senior Drew Magbag also emerged victorious in the Boys Division, adding 4 golds and a silver.
