UPIS implements changes for AY 2020-2021

The University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) officially began the new school year in the remote platform last October 5. 

Due to the pandemic, synchronous classes for Academic Year 2020-2021 are conducted via Zoom and asynchronous activities are given on Google Classroom.

The UPIS community also officially welcomed the school’s new Principal, Prof. Anthony Joseph C. Ocampo, and the new members of the administration namely Prof. Diana G. Caluag, Asst. Principal for Academic Programs (APAP); Prof. Margaret D. Atela, Asst. Principal for Administration (APA); and Prof. Sarah B. Gonzales, head of the Office of Research, Development, and Publication (ORDP).

Prof. Angela Ray A. Nieva (K-2), Prof. Czarina A. Twayana (Social Studies), Prof. Michelle S. Sonza (Mathematics), and Mrs. Mary Grace D.P. Espinosa (Student Services) are the new department heads who are part of the Executive Committee this AY. 

There are also new faculty members who teach Practical Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Health and Physical Education. 

Enrollment was done on August 17 to 25 through the new system for online registration, implemented in accordance with government protocols. Grade level student orientations were held from September 9 to 16 to introduce their subjects, teachers, and guidelines for remote learning. 

After a month of classes, a campus-wide reading break will be held on November 3 to 6 and the PTA General Assembly will be held on November 7. // by Jelena Evangelista and Magan Basilio
