Literary: Democratic Tyranny

Equal representation and equal opportunities,
This is what defines democratic communities.
The masses vote and decide as one.
That is how it is ideally done.

In reality, however, it is impossible for all to have a say.
If the majority decides, does the minority have no choice but to obey?
After all, democracy's goal is to maximize happiness.
With powerless minorities, is this really fairness?

Should the hundreds just accept what the thousands demand?
Tyrannic oppressors are not just singular rulers of the land.
Unlike dictators, masses cannot be deposed.
Tyranny of the masses, oppression unopposed.

Having no choice but ritualism and conformity to the herd,
Many are forced to radicalism to have their voices heard.
Radicalism leads to minorities further alienated,
And thus a cycle of oppression and hatred.
