UPIS varsity teams compete in Milo Little Olympics

The UPIS Varsity Swimming Team (VST) and Girls’ Volleyball Team competed in the Milo Little Olympics held last September 1–2 in Marikina City.

Three swimmers went home with medals from various events in the competition. Sophomore Pricila Aquino won gold medals in the 800m freestyle and 200m individual medley, and silver medals in the 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke, and 400m freestyle events. Senior Joy Rodgers won golds in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, while Jeremiah Esguerra won a bronze medal in the 100m breaststroke.

Meanwhile, the UPIS Girls' Volleyball team lost to Rich Golden Shower Montessori School, 2 sets to none.

Rich Golden Shower was able to catch up on a deuce two in the first set. It took the biggest lead on the 2nd set, scoring 5-13. Great services from Trizia Badong trimmed the lead but their opponents held on to win, 23-25. ● by Miguel Flores and Nina Leis
