Tanya Jean Amor of 10-Lauan was awarded second place in the 2nd Goodwill Bookstore Voice of the Youth in Print essay writing competition at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City yesterday.
This year's theme was Going Green in the Philippine Scene: A Trendy Attempt or a Timeless Effort. The said contest was open to all 3rd year and 4th year high school students in the National Capital Region.
Amor placed second out of 33 students who participated in the contest. She received a certificate of recognition, P3000 in cash, a gift certificate from SM, and gift packs.
Ma. Teresa Cancio-Sulpico, Goodwill Bookstore's president, later announced that the next year's competition awards will be raised to P40,000 for first place, P30,000 for second, P20000 and P10000 for 3rd and 4th respectively.
