To me, you’re a trap
The most beautiful kind
That entices you
And then eats you alive.
When I’m in the moment,
Unexplainably sweet,
My perplexing emotions
Repeat and repeat.
Do you know how it is
To feel so close to someone
Yet at the same time
Feel entirely abandoned?
As hard as I try
You’ll always be blind.
I’ll just have to accept
That you’ll never be mine.
You love someone else
That I cannot change
Though I’m happy for you,
The pain still remains.
But why I must blame you
For all that I feel
When as of this point,
I can’t tell what’s real.
I guess I’ll have to settle
For being in your trap
For as long as I’m in it,
I will always love you back.
