Seventh grader Angel Ken Young competed in the Intelligent Machines Contest last October 24-26 at the Tagaytay International Convention Center.
Young participated in four categories in the competition. He was declared as Champion in the Innovative Robot Category and bagged the 2nd Runner-up in the Mission Rescue (Autonomous and Remote Controlled) Junior Division and Search and Rescue (Autonomous and Remote Controlled) Junior Division. He also placed 1st Runner-up in the Battle Ball Z open category.
“The competition was fun and [it] was a great opportunity to bond with others and make new friends especially when something breaks and you need to ask someone else for help,” shared Young.
This is not the first robotics competition Young participated in for he has competed in several others such as the World Robot Games in 2016 and 2017.//by Francis Eloriaga and Alex Yangco
