Kindergarten and Grades 1 and 2 students from University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) went on a field trip to various locations last October 17.
The trip consisted of locations varying per grade level. Kindergarten students tried pizza making at Shakey's and also learned new facts and trivias at the Museo Pambata. On the other hand, first graders went to the Gardenia Factory and the Sta. Elena Fun Farm in Laguna, while Grade 2 students visited the Daily Bread Organic Farm in Bulacan.
“Ang field trip namin ay sa Daily Bread Organic Farm. Saktong-sakto siya doon sa topics namin for this quarter which is plants and then doon sa previous quarter which is animals. Natuwa naman yung mga bata, marami sila na-experience, [...] natuwa naman sila kasi bawat isa sa kanila naramdaman yung pagpapakain at nakita nila lahat ‘yong iba’t ibang hayop. [...] Overall, it was a great experience for them,” said Maria Ysrael Blas, a Grade 2 teacher.
Some students also shared their favorite experiences during the trip. “‘Yong pumunta po kami sa Museong Pambata at saka sa Fort Santiago po may nakita kaming mga bibe. [...] Sa Museong Pambata po may natutunan kami na mga kakaiba,” said kindergartener Aninaw Velasco.
“‘Yong nag zipline po kami [...] sa Sta. Elena Farm. May [partner] ako [tapos] nag-zipline kami tapos nahilo po ako pagbaba ng zipline,” explained first grader Queli Tapel.
“Animalandia [...] we fed animals, we looked for worms in the dirt. [My favorite part was] swimming,” exclaimed second grader Ceana Raquel.//by Nica Desierto and Alex Yangco
