Once again, we hear the sounds of self-made mixtapes playing repeatedly and see students staying in school until night time learning choreographies, memorizing cheers, and doing what it takes to prepare for one of the most awaited annual school events.

UPIS students are now practicing for the upcoming field demonstration (3-6) and powerdance competition (7-10), which will be held on February 12, 2020, as part of the UPIS Days celebration.

The theme for this year’s UPIS Days is “AGIMAT: Sarili’y Iangat, Pag-ibig Ipalaganap." Its goal is to promote love for oneself and mental health awareness and it aims to deliver the message “I love myself, I am enough, and I accept myself—all for who I am” to students.

The Field Demonstration for kinder to grade 2 is Superheroes to show kids that they can be their own kind of superhero. For Grades 3 to 6, The theme is Agimat and each grade level is given an element; earth, water, fire, and air, to represent through their performance.

The powerdance competition for Grades 7 to 10 is themed “MANAIG: Tibok ng Tagumpay,” which advertises that loving oneself is a step forward towards being the best version of ourselves.

Students from Grades 7 to 10 must answer the question “Anong mga tagumpay ang makakamit sa pagmamahal sa sarili?” through their performance, as a way to let themselves express and realize the importance of loving oneself.

The UPIS senior high school students have also begun practicing in preparation for their intermission performances.
