anne avendano,
Philippine rock icon Ramon “RJ” Jacinto visited UPIS to hold a free group guitar lesson at the Multi-Purpose Hall last September 4.
RJ taught the students to play a few basic chords so they could play the song “Twist” by Chubby Checker together. Ryan Cacho, Carlo Gaco of 9- Platinum and Keith Guzman of 6- Sapphire received free guitars after playing with him onstage.
He also performed “Johnny B. Goode” by Chucky Berry and “Muli”, one of his favorite compositions.
RJ also jammed with Profuzion, a band composed of Grade 10 students, as they performed “Magbalik” and “Noypi”. He also chatted with his young fans and signed autographs after the event. / by Anne Avendano and Red Rivera
