The camp was held in commemoration of Scout Memorial Day where the scouts also paid tribute to the 24 deceased scout heroes by hiking from Quezon Memorial Circle to the Boy Scout Memorial at Tomas Morato where they held mass and offered flowers.

Scout Memorial Day is held every July 28 to honor the 20 Boy Scouts and 4 scoutmasters who died in a plane crash while on their way to Marathon, Greece where they were to be the Philippine delegates of the 11th International Jamboree in 1963.

Relatives of the deceased scouts also attended the camp to share their story to the Boy Scouts. / by Celine Medina and Red Rivera
