The Junior Maroons lost to the FEU-Fern Baby Tamaraws by 30, 77-47, last August 11 and to the NU Bullpups by 22, 69-47, last August 14.
FEU raced to a 9-0 run at the start of the game with their tremendous full court defense which forced UPIS to commit turnovers. UPIS’ Gelo Sablan also sprained his ankle with 8 minutes left in the first quarter which added to the woes of the team. UPIS had a run in the third quarter sparked by Josiah Chua but wasn’t enough to catch the raging Tamaraws.
UPIS kept up with NU until the end of the first half, 34-27, but NU started to break away from the game after a four-point play from Biteng and a putback from Cauilan of NU.
