Literary: Trick

I met a guy

Who made me believe
In magic

As if I summoned a
Genie from a lamp
And had him grant
My only wish-you

You were the king from a deck of cards
When you said you wanted me to be your queen
But it was just one of your tricks
I was a piece of card waiting to be thrown away

But I volunteered
Even if I knew where this will end
I chose to be deceived and fooled by your magic
Just to be happy

Suddenly everything changed
You became the wizard who cast a spell on me
I was enchanted with your special words
I didn't notice that it was controlling me

In the end
Our story was like a magic show
You were the magician
Who disappeared and left me
While I was the audience
Who knew it was a trick
But kept on believing it was real

Literary: Neverland

Take me to neverland
Where the stories come true
Where I can get lost
Just to be found by you

You took me to neverland
A new story written
A story where we never
Had to pretend

But neverland isn’t forever
It will have to come to an end
And right before I knew it
Reality was back in a second

Take me to neverland
Cause my dreams are now tainted black
I don’t want our story to end just yet
So please, if you could, take me back

Literary: Abracadabra

Magic, magic
Nakakabilib
Abrakadabra
Nakakamangha

Di ako naniniwala
Sa umpisa
Di ako naniniwala
Hanggang sa…

Isang araw, ang ating mga mata
Ay nagtagpo at nagtama
Biglang bumilis ang tibok ng puso
Magic na ba ito?

“Gusto kita”,
Ang iyong sinabi
Mundo ko’y tumigil ng sandali
At namutawi ang ngiti sa mga labi,

Ngunit bigla ka na lang nawala
Napagod at sumuko ka na yata
Wala nang kahulugan ang mga sinabi mo
Walang katuturan at hindi pala totoo.

Sa magic, ngayo’y naniwala na
Ikaw ang patunay at pruweba
Ala una, alas dos, alas tres,
Naglaho ka nang napakabilis!

Magic, magic
Ilusyon lang pala
Abrakadabra
Wala rin akong napala.

Literary : Reunion

It was dusk, the soldier was walking along the familiar path to his town. He was using rifle as a makeshift staff and his clothes bore signs that fate had not been kind to him. His uniform was singed in many places and his boots were completely caked with mud. He had a dirty looking gash on his forehead and the right side of his face was covered with dried blood.

He had expected to return home as a hero, but ever since they lost the war, all he ever wanted was to return home safe and sound. He was not far now, the town was just over the smoke from the chimneys blowing in the wind. However, something seemed off, there was just a bit more smoke than there should have been.

He was in the town square, or what used to be the town square. It was razed to the ground. The town was filled with acrid smell of burning flesh. Skeletons of houses were the only indication that this had ever been a town. He dropped his rifle, running across the neighborhood, calling for his family and friends. Nobody answered. No one was there, not anymore.

He took out his revolver. His father gave it to him saying it would bring luck. It did, in a matter of speaking. It kept him safe but there was no more home to return to. He looked at it, it was his only remaining friend, it never left his side. He looked up, it was starting to snow. Good. It would cover the scene. He pulled the trigger and his friend sent him into the infinite.

Literary: Sinungaling Ka

Para kang mahika…
Na pasisiyahin pag malungkot ka,
Na patatahanin pag umiiyak ka,
Pero paaasahin ka

Para kang mahika…
Na nandiyan pag kailangan mo,
Na ipararamdam na maaasahan mo,
Pero bigla na lang maglalaho.

Para kang mahika…
Ang hirap paniwalaan,
Ang hirap pagkatiwalaan,
Alam naman kasing kasinungalingan.
