Literary: Your Time

I knock on your front door again.
Am I ruining your nights?
The morning’s dark, the moon’s too far,
Can I stand in your light for longer time?

My lips are turning blue, shivers up and down.
My breath’s mist goes out, and turns into ice.
I hold myself up tighter, try to feel my bones.
The walk here wasn’t any trouble, I suppose.
The door closes behind us, closing the world out.
Distant fire shadows the room, the energy warm.
The chair’s out and the clock’s ticks warped,
Have you been waiting around?

I’ve been needing someone like you,
All of my life.
Can I just ask for more time?
