Flying away in the cold wintry air
Moving away, do I even dare?
Unable to stay in this wasteland of snow
Hoping for warmth in where I will go

Misty are crystals and dead trees around
Flying to where the sun shall be found
Blurry are blizzards and wind fast to date
Ice on my feathers as dead heavy weight

My nest is a glacier, my world is too chilled
Before, home was glee and my heart was fulfilled
But a heart cold with ice, one day, has to thaw
and what once was fulfilled is now lost and raw

But flying to land, foreign and unknown
will leave me to forage for seeds on my own
As I look for pastures, green and secure
I glance back at the wintry home I endured
