Literary: Reign of Silence

Darkness
The darkness is absolute, silence reigns above all,
There’s nothing to see, and nothing to hear,
There’s nothing that’s said, for no more can be said

Everything is as everything is,
But everything isn’t as everything should

Embers
And so,
Hesitant embers glowed in the hearths of men,
Trying to turn ablaze from timid coals,
But as slivers of color began to show,
The dark but simply reclaimed its black abode

Fire
But then,
A sole flame, sanguine, took its turn,
Fighting back with words of fire,
And yet despite its courage, strength,
‘Twas still snuffed out by th’opressors’ will

Extinguished
All which burn brilliant against the dark,
Are swallowed by the eternal night,
So now not even flickers stir;

Through such the spectres at the helm,
Keep all beneath their sceptred sway,
Despite their thoughts being known to none,
Naught can be done but to obey

Darkness
The darkness is absolute, and silence reigns above all,
There’s nothing to see, and nothing to hear,
There’s nothing that’s said, for no more can be said
